Gensing Pleasure Grounds, bought by town, were formally opened by the mayor on 3 July. They had been laid out by William Andrews, the borough surveyor, and Mr Palmer, the gardener. [They lie between London Road and Charles Road, St Leonards, and are now known as Gensing Gardens,]
