Foreigner Drowns

Tragic death of an unknown foreigner, washed off the steps of a groyne in Denmark Place and drowned in an exceedingly rough sea. An inquest in the Anchor Inn was told that William Marrison, a Coastguard, failed in an heroic rescue attempt.
